| | | Re: what bird boxes have you got? Got a Wren box, many of them are roosting in there at this time of year..
Blue Tits have nested in the past.
A blackbird tried to nest in our mail box last year!
We do get House Sparrow nesting in the eaves of the house, so we don't need nest boxes for them. |

| | | Re: what bird boxes have you got? We have 5 tit boxes around our field - mosts used every year, mixture of blue tits, great tits and sparrows.
1 camera box on either end of the house - 1 used every year by blue tits for nesting and wrens for roosting through the winter. The other was only put up last year, and a little late in the season so nothing used it yet.
A woodpecker box - bit of an experiment this one, home made and so far not used for nesting, although the GSW has been visiting as various attempts at pecking around the outside.
Finally an owl box, which unfortunately the owls haven't favoured. Its been used by woodpigeons to nest in and an overwintering squirrel! |

| | | Re: what bird boxes have you got? I got one of mine with camera from Aldi, the others my hubby made and 2 we got from the local country park free as they have a free build a nest box day. I also bought another camera and put that in one of the boxes we have already. One my hubby made for my daughter that he cleaned out this sunday only to find a wasp nest in it.Last year great tits nested in it only to leave it with six eggs in and a lovely moss nest.

| | | Re: what bird boxes have you got? Two camera boxes bought from BoxWatch, with additional lighting and external cameras. One home designed and built box with two internal cameras and an external camera.
If you go to the Overview page of our website, you can see details of how things have been since we bought our first camera box in 2001. |

| | | Re: what bird boxes have you got? My daughter bought me a Gardman bird box for christmas. It's got BTO and BSA approvals and is extremely well designed and solidly built. I have found that Gardman make the strongest and best bird feeders too.
It has a 32mm entry hole and has already been closely inspected by a Blue Tit sticking his/her head inside and a Great Tit who was too large.
The hinged roof is angled and grooved and with overhang. The floor has slots to allow water etc to drain. I've fixed it well within the body of my magnificent 50ft Leylander tree and facing northeast and at 3m height with free flight path.
I can see it from my window with binoculars.
