| | | re: buzzard photos Hi Andy and a warm welcome from me to WAB.
What a beautiful area to live in. I love the road from there to Tregaron.
Please don't take the next bit as criticism but as advice.
To be honest I wouldn't have cropped those photos as much. Try lessening the crop then resizing the photos as 800 - 600 if possible. There is far too much noise in the images as they are so see how they turn out with a lessened crop and a resize of 800-600.
You don't have to have the bird as frame fillers to appreciate them and the bird in these photos is an absolute beauty. I hope you can work on the originals and get some stunning images.
It's a shame as they could have been brilliant images. They certainly look good as thumbnails (especially the first one).
It looks a stunning bird though so I would persevere with trying to photograph any that come your way.
I look forward to any other images you may get. Please post any you get on this thread.
BTW do you ever get any of the Red Kites over your way?

| | | re: buzzard photos Lovely shots Andy, you've really captured the movement, and I like the colours in the first picture. We have a good population of buzzards in Cheshire, they are always interesting to watch. |

| | | re: buzzard photos grand photos, and as you say they are cropped to show on here, so i wouldn't mind too much about the 'noise'. good advice from john though.
can't wait to see these birds displaying in the next few months, i've got a cracking spot for watching them nearby

| | | re: buzzard photos Brilliant composition of the pics! Shame about the noise
What were the originals like? I also have a 70-300mm and find I can never get close enough to many birds to get a decent shot!

| | | re: buzzard photos What's "noise" in photos? Is it the background "fuzz"? How can it be avoided?
