I went to Potteric Carr last year for the first time, to see an Iberian chiffchaff. I was very impressed with the reserve.

there are a hard core few there, that seemed to arrive each day before us and scout out the bitterns and show them to others using the reserve.
It took a lot of work to keep them happy and present, though i hear the numbers visiting are growing year on year, should be with luck some nesting soon

nice reserve i visited around this time last year and had a great day and saw a bittern myself.
not seen as many this winter, and none this year as yet! great birds and best seen in flight IMO
