If you go to the asda on Holes Bay, you can see them from there from about 4pm onwards
I've seen them once and there must be a couple hundred thousand! My parents also went again when I was at uni and they saw a bird of prey (possible sparrow hawk) swooping into the flock! Apparently thats happened a few times according to the locals.
Sometimes the railway bridge in Sterte can also be good.
