| | | Finally the bullfinches arrived How chuffed am I now? Just got done sorting the feeders out after the heavy rain and wind over the last few days then cleaned my kitchen window to try and get some better pictures when these guys appeared. I could see the female in the trees behind my fence but just wasn't sure if it was a bull or a chaff when it followed the siskins down shortly followed by the male. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever seen them too. Just need greenfinches now and that will probably be me for local finch life.
They really know how to pose for the camera and as you can see they like my ghetto style feeders

| | | Re: Finally the bullfinches arrived I had a few in the garden late January, initially thought about 10 but when I counted them up from a record shot through the window there were 17! And a male Blackcap!

Share them!! I have only ever seen one Bullfinch in/on the boundaries of my garden and that was a male one day in late January 2003, so I reckon I must be due another!

That's actually another 2 firsts for me this week (goldcrest and bullfinch). |

| | | Re: Finally the bullfinches arrived I hadn't seen one before until 10 days ago. I have seen 4 since then (at different locations..unless they stowed away in the back of the pick-up!!). Curious!
