| | | Re: Who has the biggest starling swarm? ~T~, I just counted 60 birds in the second picture down
My starling "swarm" is usually around 30 - 40 in the garden together. Bigger flocks gather in the evening before roosting, maybe around 100 - 150, so I see a mini starling swarm flying around in the evenings. |

Chris. | Starlings are sooooo tricky to count, especially when they are squabbling over food. My starling visits consist of lots of squealing, flapping wings, fluttering up in the air at each other while squealing. I had 10 trying to get on my suet ball feeder all together at one point Later, one was on that feeder, another tried to land on it and the first one squealed and pecked it on the head . If they would just quietly feed together, there's plenty of food for all of them. But then that's what I like so much about starlings, their comical behaviour and beautiful plummage |

Another pair nest above the toilet on the other side of the house.......Urrrm I think I might be the interloper and living in a nest box
The ones in the garden always put on a show as without fail they use the bird baths even this morning and as they splash water all over the place the sparrows stand there having a shower
They truely are clowns of the garden
Chris.
