| | | Goldfinch Came across a charm of these today but can anyone confirm the bottom bird is a juvenile as i suspect.

| | | Re: Goldfinch Its a chaffinch  female in winter plumage, the wingbars which are usually white during the spring/summer turn yellow in the winter.  As I said goldfinch born last season will look like adults now (unless you have them in the hand or get a really close look). They complete their post juvenile moult by the end of September. |
