Goldfinch

Came across a charm of these today but can anyone confirm the bottom bird is a juvenile as i suspect.

Its a chaffinch, Goldfinch from last year will look like adults now they have completed their post juvenile moult last autumn.

Dogghound,i have a rear view but it doesnt look chaffinch like to me.I will load a photo now.Not that i dont trust you mind :-)

Rear view,there is a slight chance it is not the same bird,but i am pretty sure it is although they were hopping about alot.

Its a chaffinch female in winter plumage, the wingbars which are usually white during the spring/summer turn yellow in the winter. As I said goldfinch born last season will look like adults now (unless you have them in the hand or get a really close look). They complete their post juvenile moult by the end of September.

Thanks mate ,i was thinking white wing bars for chaffinch and never knew they change colours in winter . that is a quite suprise to me.
