| | | Re: where can I see waxwings in staffordshire? Waxwings are very mobile and will generally only stay in one place until the berries run out. If you keep an eye on any area near you where there are still plenty of berries (rowan berries in particular) they may turn up - they generally stay in the country until mid-late March, sometimes early April.
The easiest way to see Waxwings is often to follow up reports from other birdwatchers (as soon as possible after the report).
Look for sites that list bird reports in Staffordshire and check them regularly (eg: Staffordshire Bird News ).
The same advice applies to anyone in other counties - search for the county name + "bird news" or "birds + latest sightings". |

| | | Re: where can I see waxwings in staffordshire? If you're anyway near south staffs/worcestershire border I spotted some in the Kingsford Park last week. I walked into them by accident and didn't even realise what they were until my photo was kindly IDed on this site. Feel very provileged to have stumbled into them. I'm heading out there again next week so will keep my eyes peeled |

Hi kingfisher, I work in Newcastle-under-Lyme and there has been a good number of waxwings on the edge of the town centre within the last month, they were feeding on some trees near the conservative club for a week or so but I have not seen them for a while, it's certainly worth a look. They were located near St.Giles church where there has also been Peregrine falcon sightings within the last few months, I myself saw one of them.
