| | | Woodbury Common What birds of prey would I be likely to see on woodbury common or around Exmouth? I live nearby and any tips on seeing them would also be gratefully recieved! |

| | | Re: Woodbury Common In your area you should get Kestrel, Peregrine, chance of Merlin in winter, Buzzard + Sparrowhawk. Other species are possible such as Goshawk, Hobby in summer, Osprey on passage, drifting Red Kite, etc. |

| | | Re: Woodbury Common aeshna has pretty much covered the diurnal raptors - the other likely ones are owls (tawny, barn, and little) which you might see hunting over the heath or farmland at dawn or dusk.
not raptors but if you are interested in birds have you been to see the kittiwake colony off devon cliffs ( at the other end of orcombe point from exmouth) ?
And also dont neglect the wintering wader flocks on the exe estuary and the surrounding farmland
Incidentally I'm the Head Ranger for the National Trust in East Devon so if you want more advice on whats about locally feel free to ask.

Thanks for the replies! Yes I have seen these colonies before as I enjoy kayaking and am hopefully going to visit the seabirds a lot more when i get a waterproof case for my camera!
