Look who came visiting this morning!

I had him here when the snow was around and havent seen him for a while since but there he was this morning in all his glory.

Couple of more weeks yet until he will be safe, you never know you may hear the patter of tiny feet yet

Shooting season. It ends on the 1st of February in England, Scotland and Wales.

We had one here a few years ago, who would come for his breakfast every morning. He got so tame he would come to within a few feet and "talk" to us when we went out to feed him. He'd even use out picnic table as a "crowing post" when he wanted to make some noise.

Sadly he didn't turn up one morning and I found him dead in the road when I went on the school run. We have had a few others since, but never one so tame. They are really beautiful birds, especially in full sun.

Im sure if he knows he's going to be fed by you and feels safe in your garden he will make it ok

Thanks, I sure hope he does survive. It was very foggy when I took his picture this morning so his true colours are not showing well.

We used to have a phesant that would come & have his breakfast every morning. He used to run across a side road, hide in the bushes, check the coast was clear then dash out to his fave spot when I used to leave his food.

When the sun caught his feathers he was truly stunning. I used to wait until he'd finished & make sure he got back across the road safely before I went to work
