| | | Mystery bunting Apologies for quality of pic, (taken at full zoom with compact), this bunting struck me as not run of the mill. I`m pretty sure it was one of a pair which were with a few yellowhammers. I would normally be thinking of female Reed, (it certainly had facial stripes), but the cap seemed chestnut coloured and there seems to be a similar or more rusty throat patch. The tail did not show much, if any white edge and the rump was dull. I would be very grateful for any comments.
Cheers

| | | Re: Mystery bunting I'm totally confused by this bird. It could well be a Reed Bunting, but if I saw this, I wouldn't know what to make of it and I'd be asking around until I was satisfied with the answer.

| | | Re: Mystery bunting watsthat do you have any more pictures that show a bit more detail/colour?
It does have a Reed Bunting feel to it but I don't think you can say for certain with just this picture.
