Out walking the dog this morning,about half seven, started off on our usual route, walking through a little alleyway, then all of a sunden i thought i saw a leaf blowing in front of me , i ignored it and got closer , then i noticed it was 2 robins having a punch up... 
I have seen displays of chasing other bids and robins but never witnessed a scrap.By this time i was almost treading on them , when one flew away the other stood here on the ground  i thought it was injured good and proper, but then it flew of into a tree .I went up to it ,but it didnt fly off , but it looked ok.
I was taken back abit for a second there, wow nature in front of me doing its thing.
Typing this i wonder how its geting on? 
Its something you dont see every day .Well I dont anyway.

Yes robins are very aggressive, its not unknown for them to die in these fights. |

Thats what took me back a bit , i did read about that, and when it was montionless i thought the worse , but was glad to see it fly off.

They will probably be getting a little extra shirty now we are coming upto the breeding season. |

i have been with in touching distance with blackbirds and sparrows in mortal combat did not even know i was there till the last second must be heaven for a predator to come across birds in a fight

This is what stumped me the other day as I had 3 Robins feeding together with no squabbles in the garden normally they chase each other off but this time were quite content to let live and get on feeding.
