but while i was hoping to bump into JF, i saw 2 treecreepers, a nuthatch,
4 RN parakets, goldfinches, 2 mistle thrushes, chaffinches blue tits , and 2 great tits, and a great spotted woodpecker....so hey i am happy
all that and i was only going to see he waxwings...

I forgot to mention that when I went, I noticed that a couple of thrushes took exception to the waxwings targeting 'their' berry tree. Every time the waxwings got near the thrushes started chattering furiously and hopped near them in a threatening manner.

There have been reports of a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker very near that spot, in previous years. You could have been a very lucky boy indeed.
