| | Beach party - what a Twit(e) I went to Dingle Marshes Sunday afternoon, and walked from Dunwich towards Walberswick. Eventually I reached the spot where a couple of other guys were already installed waiting for the Shorelarks. There were about a dozen some way away, but apparently they had been moving around between some feed areas and further away. Didn't have to wait too long for them to come closer, together with the Snow Buntings and Twite that were also there. Not often you get all three in your viewfinder at the same time:
As the light began to deteriorate, I realised that I had taken all the afternoon's shots at ISO 1000! I had been experimenting the previous afternoon, and had forgotten to change it back. I could have kicked myself. And in brilliant light too . Oh well, Good excuse to go back and try again some other time. |

| | | Re: Beach party - what a Twit(e) Great shot + 3 really good species. I used to regularly see all 3 at Holkham, but last couple of years only seen Snow Buntings.
I know this winter there are a lot more Shore Larks around than the last 2 seasons. Gorgeous looking birds! |

The lark to the far left of the photo, just poking his head up, looks like he has his beady eye on you!!

(30 seconds later he suddenly charged forward, grabbed the hip flask out of my pocket and flew off down the beach, laughing! Only kidding of course, but he does definitely have that look about him ) | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
