| | | Share your Farne Islands stories
Hi guys,
I was thinking about going to the Farne Islands possibly at the start of April, I've created this to accept any advice from you, but mostly to hear some of your experiences that you've had visiting the islands, and possibly some of your pictures! Anything would be greatly appreciated, times to go, photography gear, camera settings and little personal experiences you had with any of the birds there - this can be puffins, guillemots, razorbills, terns and more! |

We visited two of the Farne Islands in June 2005 and had a wonderful time - flat calm sea and clear blue sky all day. You can see my husband's photos here: The Farne Islands - June 2005 |

Personally I'd go a little later. The birds will be there, but the weather's more likely to be disruptive then. I know the winds can come up any time but I'd go May at the earliest, avoiding bank holidays! |

We went on June 23rd, when the Arctic Terns were fiercely protective of their young! I was wearing a fairly thick baseball cap but it was still quite painful when they attacked! 
(Some people wore builders' hard hats)!  | | |
