| | | Best bird book? Hey guys
Wondering if any of you guys can suggest a decent book for identifying birds, maybe one that deals just with birds in the UK. Not too bothered about size, so one with more pictures would suit me best.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

| | | Re: Best bird book? A very good book is - Book of british birds published by readers digest AA.If the book has its dust cover there are a pair of wading birds on the cover.if you find the book without its dust cover their is a tawny owl on the book front board. Its quite an old book around 1980,s but republished often and very easy to get hold of and very popular with great illustrations and detail.Available for around £10 or so delivered from online book stores and auction sites .I highly rate it. |

| | | Re: Best bird book? RSPB Birds of Britain and Europe by Rob Hume published by DK,
or the Pocket version of the book if you want to take it into the field with you - RSPB Pocket Birds of Britain and Europe by Jonathon Elphick and John Woodward also published by DK. Not quite so much written detail in the pocket version, but pictures are the same, only smaller. |

| | | Re: Best bird book? I use the collins guide. One copy at home and one in the car.
These are backed up by 'The Birds of the western palearctic' and various other specialised books.
Cheers |
