This was taken in summer but I have only just been brave enough to upload as my photography needs a lot to be desired! Am I right in thinking it is a sparrowhawk?  |

Yes Sparrowhawk - from what i can see your photography is good, it's just the quality  Always be brave with photography because at the end of the day you can only improve when people comment on your work. |

Thank you, I appreciate your encouragement. This particular picture was taken with my mobile phone through double glazing - not the best circumstances. I have a new camera now and I am trying to get good pictures but losing quality when resizing. |

Its a male, did you notice the bird it has, has its head removed, a practise he does before he presents it to the female to feed to the chicks. |

Yes - it was an unfortunate greenfinch. I watched as he feathered it too before carrying it off. |
