BBC News - More than 1,000 blackbirds fall out of Arkansas sky

This is sad. My first thought was some sort of gas cloud. What do you think?

I wonder whether there was some sort of poisoning- Red-winged Blackbirds (not a thrush, like our Blackbird) are considered agricultural pests in some areas of the US.

Only analysis of the bodies will confirm- hopefully it was a freak natural occurence.

BBC News has said this morning that the dead birds are going to be analyzed to find the cause of death, they mentioned hail stones and lighting as a possible cause.
