Woodcock

Hi I posted a thread asking for ID on a bird that spent the whole day in my back garden. It was identified as a Woodcock. I think out of sheer desperation due to the freeze and snow it had to come out during the day.

However, I have not seen it since all the snow has gone. I believe they are a bit nocturnal so now that it is warmer is it a case that it can be coming into the garden later when I cant see!! Or are they not the kind of birds that have a teritory just wander from garden to garden etc.

At this time of year they could wander miles each day/night. Now the snow is melting they will probably be moving into more favourable habitats in your area.
