| | | Re: 2011 Target Birds Well I could say Waxwing as everyone else seems to have one or more perched near them
But I would make do with the good old Chaffinch not seen or heard one in well over a year
Chris.

| | | Re: 2011 Target Birds Kingfisher, Ptarmigan and Dotterel are my three targets birdwise for this year locally. I'm going to Uist in May and hope to see plenty of different birds there too.

| | | Re: 2011 Target Birds 2010 was an incredible year for me, being my first year properly recording everything, keeping a list, etc... I really tried to see as much as i could, within reason, without going as far as 'twitching'! This resulted in me seeing 147 species which was incredible (including a few feral/escapees). This year i would like to simply do it all again, mainly by continuing to record on my local patches and throughout the local area.
if there were any target birds for this year it would be county rarities which i missed last year, such as Smew, Great white egret, Great Northern diver and Great Grey shrike (lots of 'greats' there).
hoping to see nesting lesser spotted woodpeckers again too, it would be great to see an increase of this species again in nottinghamshire.

| | | Re: 2011 Target Birds I would love to see the Wren back in my garden. Use to be a few a couple of years ago but no sight nor sound of any in 2010 so hopefully 2011 will bring them back!!
Looking forward to starting gardening as well and watching my faithful Robin coming up close to steal the disturbed insects and worms |

| | | Re: 2011 Target Birds I have just started feeding the birds in my garden and twitching, although I did used to be interested in birds as a kid.
Seen quite a few species already but got it in my head that I would like to see a Bullfinch and a Redstart this summer. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
