Question Robin vs bird of prey
On boxing day morning I was watching a Robin, in a fir tree, from my bedroom window, When it was suddenly attacked and taken by a bird of prey. As it flew in at an angle of about 30 degrees I have been told it was probably
a Sparrowhawk, but its plumage was brown & beige and it seemed to have very angular wings. Has anybody got any alternative ideas? this happened in a suburban garden in Dagenham Essex.

It does sound very much like a sparrowhawk to me.

Sounds like sparrowhawk to me. There are plenty in the area
