Cranberries as bird food?
I have got a load of cheap cranberries from the local supermarket. I am thinking of boiling them for 5 mins before I put them out for the birds. Any other suggestions?

Agreed. I imagine the birds would prefer them in their natural state.

I have a cranberry bush in my garden which is prolific producer of autumn berries, popular with thrushes, blackbirds and the very occasional redwing that turns up here. I certainly wouldn't boil them - they're very soft berries as they are.
