For anyone whose interested there are currently record numbers of wildfowl on the Sheppey marshes including well over a thousand White Fronted Geese, 150 plus Barnacles, a few Pinkfeet and Bean Geese along with plenty of Bewick Swans.



These birds were coming in to feed near the church at Harty.

There also seems to be a lot more Bitterns than usual.
I have been seeing them almost every day now for the last week or so, even in areas I have never seen them before.




Just keep an eye on the ditch banks.

Lovely Bittern shot. There's been a lot of severe weather on the continent too, so many wild geese have been moving across along with other species. You are in a great place to enjoy them.

Yes lots of birds coming across, good numbers up there by the sound of it. We had a Taiga bean the other day in east yorkshire which is a really good bird here.
