Pike are highly territorial. And being both cold blooded and typically inactive, like crocodiles, I can't believe their energy requirements are that high. So even without their cannibalism, I can't see pike taking that many fish from a particular area. I mean that I expect that a pike would maintain a territory large enough so that they wouldn't decimate the fish population in that area as they wouldn't be eating enough fish.
