Little bird for ID, please.

In the feeding frenzy in my snowy garden I've noticed this little guy over the last few days.
He's a ground feeder, going for the seeds rather than anything else, and hanging around under the nyjer feeder on his own most of the time.
Could he be a twite?
He has a definite little forked tail but his chest markings are not perfectly striped.

I took the pic through the window so it's not really clear but I hope you can help with IDing him for me, nevertheless.

Should have mentioned I'm in Dublin, urban garden, lots of feeders all the year around and close to a pretty big park/gardens.
