| | | Bird Guide for Northern India Hi there,
I might be trekking in northern India in 2012 throughout the region of Ladakh and I am hoping to try my hand at birding in new country. I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation of a good ID guide for birds in that area?
Cheers, Alex |

Apologies for suggesting something I'm sure you have already considered.
Good luck, your trip sounds exciting. |

| | | Re: Bird Guide for Northern India When I went to India I used the
Helm Pocket Guide to the Birds of the Indian sub-continent by Grimmet, Inskipp + Inskipp.
I also found it useful in Kazakhstan (where there wasn't a suitable field guide) where I was involved with several tours.
Have a great trip when you do go. |

Cheers, Alex | Check out the Fatbirder website. Select India in the world birding section and scroll down for trip reports. Very useful for site and species information.
