Blackcaps often come into gardens and use feeders etc during winter and harsh weather. Good spot |

| | | Re: Can anyone tell me what this bird is? A lovely female blackcap indeed. Nightingales are in West Africa this time of year stocking up ready for the big migration back here in spring.

| | | Re: Can anyone tell me what this bird is? I agree female Blackcap. I would advise that you take your fat balls out of the netting and put them in a feeder though. Birds can get caught in this type of netting and loose their legs, toes or even be killed. |

| | | Re: Can anyone tell me what this bird is? As everybody has said, a female blackcap, but they do have the local names "mock nightingale" and "northern nightingale", I believe. They certainly have a lovely song. |

| | | Re: Can anyone tell me what this bird is? learned something new about blackcaps , that they eat mistltoe berries and they help the mistletoe to spread , as the berry is very sticky and the blackcap wipes it on the branch of the tree, which then grows , . and yes its a blackcap in the photo. rossy. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
