| | | Geese in flight ID Anyone got any ideas on what these geese are?
I'd popped outside to take some pics of the sunset and thought I heard geese. Took me ages to spot them as they weren't very vocal, just the occasional bit of noise.
All the photos were rubbish but I chose this one as I rather liked the way that the sun reflecting made one of them look like it had it's navigation lights on .
A long shot I know but I'd be grateful for any suggestions. I didn't even have my bins with me so couldn't see any detail with the naked eye at all.
They were heading south and I felt like shouting up to them that it wasn't worth the effort as it was probably even colder there . |

| | | Re: Geese in flight ID My first thought was Canada geese until I saw you comment about there not being much noise. Most of the Canadas I see chat to each other nearly all the time in flight.
Sorry I'm no help at all.
Dave

| | | Re: Geese in flight ID Not easy from that image, but possibly Pinkfeet- the head + bill look quite small + the neck not particularly long. |

| | | Re: Geese in flight ID Thanks all .
Pinkfeet were always the most likely. And I doubt anything else could be gathered from those pics lol.
Don't worry about the last one htcdude... he just had his afterburners on so he could keep up with the rest . |
