| | | Re: Favourite bird of 2010 The redwings around my village which finally managed to stay still long enough for me to identify, despite nearly crashing the car (on ice) plus an earful from hubby.
Worth it tho

| | | Re: Favourite bird of 2010 In our garden, it has to be the Coal Tit. Always the first to try new things, regardless of the time of year. Direct and purposeful, without the bickering nature of many other birds. A real survivor.
In contrast, robins fighting whilst others eat the bounty of food is always amusing ~ got to love them! When will evolution temper their competitiveness? |

| | | Re: Favourite bird of 2010 Well, as this is my first year of "proper" bird watching , it has to be every bird that has visited my garden this year . Too many really to list, but I will make a thread sometime about my first year and all I have seen . There are lots of others I have seen in my local area, and further afield.
Highlights of the last few weeks and the bad weather have to be the increasing flock of siskins, and the female brambling.
Yesterday, (Friday 17th Dec), I had a male Reed Bunting drop by for a snack in my garden . |

| | | Re: Favourite bird of 2010 Probably my 3 firsts this year. The reed buntings I've been getting round my feeders daily and the other day when I spotted a small flock of waxwings and redwings in the tiny park across the street from my work.
Also when I was in the US in summer I saw an Ospery, pelicans and loads of turkey vultures. |
