Looks like a linnet. Twite would show a distinctive yellow bill at this time of year. Also, twite have an unmarked, curry-coloured throat which I find quite distinctive, even at some distance. I was watching a mixed flock of twite/linnet on the coast on Sunday, even at 200yds through a scope it was relatively easy to pick this feature out. Whereabouts was the shot taken Fudgey, most twite will be coastal at present.
