| | | water Sitting watching the birds feeding I was suprised and amazed to count over 40+ using the running water to drink then bathe.The importance of an ice free water supply must not be overlooked,as most grains etc.contain little or no moisture so when you feed attend to the drinking water as well |

I've taken the liberty of moving your thread into the "Bird" section.
I agree with you, the importance of water cannot be over emphasised. Water can attract more birds than even food can.
In cold weather, it is essential birds have clean water to drink/bathe.
Another point worth mentioning too, under NO Circumstances, should one add ANTI FREEZE or other such things to water, to keep it from freezing.
Instead, experiment with what works for you, hot water from the kettle, a ball in the centre of the birdbath, pouring out the water the evening before, etc etc... |
