| | | Bird ID Help Hi there, I was driving home yesterday and spotted an unusual looking bird on the grass verge near a roundabout in the RM15 area in Essex. I managed to get a pic of it but its not very clear as it was taken on my mobile holding my camera out of the window by which time the bird had started to run away before finally flying into a nearby field.
Here's the pic, if you can zoom in it does help a bit
It had a long tuft on its head, it was quite tall and after looking through some bird pics online it was about the same size as a hoopoe but totally different colourings, it had dull orange and green markings around its neck and shoulders.
Any ideas anyone, I'd love to know what it is Thanx |

| | | Re: Bird ID Help yes agreed a lapwing - though the field is a far more traditional location for this species than the road verge!

Though it could be phrased as 'plover that hasn't got a father'. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
