| | Blue tit roosting The house at the back of me is sideways on and the only window that overlooks my back garden is their bathroom. Below this window is a hole where the overflow pipe from the loo or basin was (it has either been removed or broken off). A few days ago I spotted a blue tit investigating the hole and after pecking around for a while and then it actually went right in ! The time was 15.50. I watched for around 15-20 minutes until it was too dark to see and it didnt come out so I assumed it was roosting in the cavity wall. The next day I watched again and it arrived at exactly 15.50 and has been coming each day at that time for the past 5 days. It is only a small hole and it has to wiggle a bit to get in ! |

| | | Re: Blue tit roosting One wonders why the government doesn't pass a law stipulating that every new building has to have one of those hollow brick nest boxes. Apart from cost (I doubt a single brick will break the bank) I can't immediately think of too many drawbacks. |
