starlings feet

I wondered if any one else had noticed that the visiting starlings in their gardens seem to have very sore feet and cannot stand properly?Would these birds suffer with frostbite in this weather.One of my visiting woodpigeons also had a sore foot today and was hobbling along.It is so sad to see them like this.

I'm please to report that the starlings that are visiting are, or seem to be healthy and their feet are fine. Perhaps your starling has had a wound of some sort that an infection has got going in.

We don't get many Starlings in our garden, but the ones i've seen looked healthy, roughly where are you in the country?

Thanks for the replys.We are in Cheshire too.I havnt seen any with sore feet this morning.Each day there seem to be less affected.Would they suffer from the cold affecting their feet as it has been much colder then other winters?

You could be right, its been worryingly cold for a few weeks now and the trees are covered in icy frost.
