| | | Good taxidermist My mate has just messaged me saying he has a dead Waxwing and wondered if I wanted it, I said yes as I want it stuffed. Any one know any good taxidermists? |

I can recommend Phil Leggett - see here - www.taxidermy-uk.net, Philip Leggett, Providing a High quality Taxidermy to the discerning client.
He's recently done a Kingfisher for me and made a beautiful job of it.
By the way, it's important to get the bird's corpse dried, well wrapped and then into your freezer as quickly as possible to avoid any deterioration.

| | | Re: Good taxidermist Thansk for the quick replies folk, Ill have a look at the link later, brilliant. I used to have loads of stuffed birds Jeff and it is already in the freezer as I can remember from those days that was the advice. If I remember correctly Newspaper is a good thing to wrap them in?
Would love a Kingfisher, if I ever find a dead one it will be stuffed too. Thansk again |

| | | Re: Good taxidermist Mike Gadd is excellent.
Expect to pay about £175 for the bird, and another £100 for a good case.
Alternatively, consider offering it to the Tring museum for their collection (google NHM Tring). They will be very keen for a new waxwing, and it will be available for study for generations to come.
In the meantime, no matter what you do, put it in the freezer asap in a sealed bag with all of the air squeezed out (to prevent freeezer burn) |
