| | | Woodpecker comes to visit Well, I've lived here for 11 years and didn't even know that woodpeckers were in the area, let alone coming to our garden.
We first saw him on Saturday last week and I've finally managed to get a half decent shot. Waiting around for him has made me close to being late for work on numerous occasion this week I'm hoping he's here to stay |

| | | Re: Woodpecker comes to visit The cold weather has been really good at moving birds about and getting them in gardens.
We usually see about 5 or so goldfinches for a few days each year (usually January or February) but we have had a flock of 20 or so at some time every day last week.

| | | Re: Woodpecker comes to visit Woody will stay with you all year if you carry on putting out a good mixture of food, as your pic shows. You'll find he does a daily circuit of the gardens with feeders, and will visit you six or seven times if his "area" includes your garden.
We have a pair, and their juvenile from last summer - but at the moment none are very friendly towards each other, and will shoo anyone else off. |

I have a peanut feeder and fat block holder hanging from a tree which has holes drilled in it that I stuff with suet pellets which they love. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
