| | | Empty Garden... With all the cold weather you would think , that your back garden should have the birds queing to get onto the feeders, mine is will kinda deserted. there may and could well be several reasons for this , but as keen /avide birdwatchers, does an empty garden make you want to go out to your local reserve, wildlife place, woods etc and go and find them yourself .?
I sitting here waiting to go to work , and i so want to go out and walk the fields ... if i dont see much, hey , at least i tried....but i cant ...
doctor please help me...

| | | Re: Empty Garden... I haven't had any birds other than Pigeon and Robin in my garden since I put the feeders up in the summer! I guess I want to get out more to see birds, but I think even if I did have lots of birds coming to the garden I'd still want to get out somewhere
Maybe having no birds in the garden makes you appreciate them more outside the garden?? |

| | | Re: Empty Garden... What food are you offering?
I posted earlier on "bird feeding tips" and reported these visitors eating the ground food I'd put out: 16 chaffinches, 6 starlings, 9 blackbirds and 2 jays. I also provided two lots of water, which was much appreciated.Shortly after I'd said this, 4 starlings were sharing a bath - with two others waiting for their turn!
The hanging feeders are well used too - sunflower hearts, black sunflower seed and a large (330gm) home made fat block in a caged feeder. |

pretty much what you feed, with niger seed as well peanuts .
my hanging feeder out the front garden is getting a lot of use.
