| | | Redwings I have a lot of Hawthorn trees at the bottom of my garden. Over the last few weeks I have been seeing the odd Redwing amongst the Blackbirds and Pigeons feeding on the berries. I look every day in the hope that the Waxwings might find them.
The recent fall of snow has brought a lot more Redwings in, this morning the trees were full of them. The way they are going the berries will soon be cleared up.
No chance of a Waxwing then.
Even so, they are cracking little birds. |

| | | Re: Redwings Nice shot, but I dont think Waxwings are that keen on hawthorn berries mate. Rowans and the likes are far more succulent and have a lot smaller stone and you are far more likely to see them on these. Last resort they will feed on hawthorns. |

| | | Re: Redwings That's a lovely shot, Snake. I haven't seen any Redwings yet this Winter, but have seen Wxwings, including half a dozen in the field near my house while walking the dog, and a couple flew over me the other day as I walked through a cemetery at a funeral! |

| | | Re: Redwings To be honest, that's one of the nicest Redwing shots I've ever seen. Great composition and got the colours perfect! As said especially with the berries and snow | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
