| | | Help! Bar-Tailed Redpoll perhaps? :) Hello folks, first post here so be gentle
Hoping you guys can help identify the birds below. I have tried to find them in my RSPB handbook and also Peter Hayman/Rob Humes Birdwatcher Pocket Guide, but I'm not 100% certain, mainly due to my poor photography so apologies for the quality of the shots.
I thought the first may be a Redpoll of some sort, but can anyone tell which one?
The second I think is of a group of godwits, but again I would appreciate your help in determining which type (I suspect bar-tailed).
Thanks! |

| | | Re: Help! Bar-Tailed Redpoll perhaps? :) You can see the pattern of the back (Scapulars, mantle, coverts) as well bar-tailed have heavily streaked feathers in this region, where as black tailed are more plain. The bird on the left is a 1st winter bird too (at the front).
