| | | the nearest thing to touching a bird. I was over joyed this afternoon , when i noticed a couple of long tailed tits pop onto the feeder i have at the front of the house. The birds have got used to it now , its only 1ft of the ground a feeder with sun hearts in it. i get nuthatches , great , blue and coal tits , robins chaffinches , infact it can be busier than my back garden. the thing is i got up an went to the window, the feeder is about 3 5 ft away and i have a berry bush growing round the window, thats when i see a LTT fly onto the bush , i froze and watched in delight , i was so over the moon the missus thought i was strange....
but to have a LTT right next to you (ok through a window mind) is just amazing |

that would be an ambition of mine to hold a bird... |

| | | Re: the nearest thing to touching a bird. One of my favourite birds. They are quite approachable if you are slow with no sudden movements. Lucky you!
I won't wish for one in my hand as the only time that happens is when it's crashed into a window...luckily all survived so far.

Likewise my feeder pole is outside my window, close enough that I can chuck stuff into the tray out the window if I'm feeling lazy. As long as I slowly approach the window they don't bother & continue to ing & fro ing. I still forget to breathe sometimes.
