| | | Injured magpie HELP Theres an injured magpie sitting on my neighbours back step. Should I try and catch it and if so do you think the SSPCA or a local wildlife place would be the best to call. Looks like it has an injured wing. Probably from a cat attack or something. |

| | | Re: Injured magpie HELP Ok I managed to catch it without too much stress and have phoned a local(ish) wildlife centre who say they are swamped today but will be able to collect it tomorrow. It looks like a cats got ahold of it as one wings a bit shredded. Other than that it seems lively enough. I have it in a warm area in a carboard box. I'm guessing theres not much point in trying to feed it though I have some locusts that I feed to my geckos that might be the best bet. |

| | | Re: Injured magpie HELP Watch its claws too, they are quite powerful on magpies. One shredded my finger a couple of weeks ago. Sounds like your doing it about right. Just make sure the box is in a quiet area and it isnt flapping about inside the box. |

| | | Re: Injured magpie HELP I believe you should make sure the box is open to the side not the top, otherwise it'll try to fly up and out.
It'll probably eat anything! |

| | | Re: Injured magpie HELP Cheers guys I've moved it into a better box which is a big polystyrene type and managed to fashion a perch for it which it's using. The box is in a warm quiet area and completley covered apart from some 1p sized air holes. I've put in a small sturdy dish with fresh water and will try some food in there a bit later. |
