blackbird nests in winter

sorry to ask stupid question, I know nothing about birds but like them

we have a very overgrown and fast growing honeysuckle in the garden that didn't get cut back last year and really needs done this year

a blackbird nested deep in the mass of branches and raised about 4 babies
we haven't seen them for a couple of months but haven't been out as much

can we cut back this huge plant now without upsetting them, leaving them without a home in this cold weather or putting them off nesting for next year?

I have never seen the nest as too deep in, just seen birds going in and out, sometimes with food and heard song, so can't say if it's empty or not.

It's safe to cut it back now. Just avoid doing so between March and October, when they could be nesting. You can pull out the old nest and discard it on the compost heap.
