Identification help needed please

I wonder if someone can help me identify a bird call I hear at night. It is a very high pitched single note call that lasts only for a second and is very infrequent. It sounds like a small bird.
I live on the outskirts of Poole.

Blackbirds can sometimes make a similar call too.

Jonathon you were right on the button. Following your lead I looked (and listened) further at redwings and it is spot on. well done.
