| | Help ID garden bird Hi, I have just been watching the birds in my garden (namely all the tits...great, coal, long tailed, blue) and there was one single one loitering and waiting to pinch some nuts....anyway, due to the position of the sun I couldnt see it that well....but it did have a little quiff on its head.....the bird was of similar size to a great tit, and sort of browny fawny in colour with what looked like a streak of white down the wing.....this white could have been mistaken for any sort of light colour though.....so not a definate ID. If anyone could advise, or send a pic of what they think it was Im sure Id recognise it again if I saw it. Many thanks. |

| | Re: Help ID garden bird Thanks guys, Im quite familiar with Chaffs and looking at the pics of the females, it was of a very similar colour....but Im just so certain it had a quiff.....like a crested tit...but it wasnt that. Maybe it was just a female chaff.....having a bad hair day!! I'll report back if I see it again...cheers again x |

| | | Re: Help ID garden bird Waxwing possibly? Though bit bigger than a tit and I understand to be more interested in berries than nuts. But ticks the 'bad hair' box! And browny colour with markings on wings.
Just a thought. |
