| | | Middle Eastern Duck Species.... Okay, I know this is a British birds forum but also that quite a lot of Duck species migrate/travel, so any Duck experts here may be able to help.
I'm seeking to know which Ducks, if any, can be seen in the Middle East - That is Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Egypt, The Arabian peninsular, for the purposes of my question.
Google isn't helping me, so any help here would be appreciated - Many Thanks

| | | Re: Middle Eastern Duck Species.... That’s a massive area Red Robin and in the northern parts i.e. Bulgaria you would see a lot of the same species as you would find in parts on Northern Europe, especially Dabbling & Diving Ducks also Geese, but the number of species would diminish as you go further south. Time of year will also make a massive difference.
Species that spring to mind are Ruddy Shelduck, Red-crested Pochard, White-Headed Duck, Marbled Duck, Garganey and Ferruginous Duck. I would also look out for Red-breasted Goose while we are on wildfowl.
There are several sites that will let you print checklists for a country, also try looking for trip reports or what other people have seen in different places.
Try these Index, Travellingbirder.com - Internet Portal to Birdwatching Trip Reports
