Flowers don't smell as strong either! I can remember walking down a road past a garden with clove pinks in it - the smell was so strong. They don't smell as strong now. I wonder if it's anything due to the fact that I'm now 6'4" as against 3ft, and my nose is correspondingly further away! I can also remember standing in a bed of phlox that were chest height. They only seem to be knee high nowadays.

We got cloves in a heart shaped sachet hanging from lounge door handle.Any movement or draft then the whole room is filled with the aroma.Also a fennel seed sachet on kitchen door.
