| | | Spanish photos (birds seen in Britain). I thought I would post some of the photos from Spain into the gallery then link them to this thread. Only those that are on the British list will be used. The first ten are here. I will upload some more later.
The first three images are of Night Herons in Flight.
The next one is of Spoonbills in flight.
Next is a couple of Hoopoe photos.
Great White Egret next.
Cattle Egret next.
Black Redstart next
Last image is of a Little Owl.

The first one is of a Southern Grey Shrike.
Next is a Rock Bunting.
White Wagtail (as opposed to a Pied - same species).
Two photos of White Storks
Two photos of Squacco Herons
Red-legged partridge
House Sparrow.
That's it as all the other photos are of birds that haven't come to Britain or have but haven't been accepted onto the lists yet.

You should be rightfully proud of all of those pictures John. Lovely.

All of the above were with the DSLR. I had also bought the Canon 1.4 teleconverter before I went to Spain and it has been attached ever since so all photos you can see will be with the telenconvertor and the 100-400 lens.
The only ones I digiscoped are not shown above. They were the Blue Rock thrush (possibly over 300 yards away), the Short-eared Owl (possibly 200 yards away on a very warm day) and the Black-shouldered Kite which again was about 200 yards away.

John | I'm impressed with the performance of the 1.4, with my lens I couldn't get on with it. I suppose I should consider that you probably had excellent light, something that's pretty rare round here!
You also did very well to get the in flight shots using the 1.4, did you use manual focus?

I only used auto focus and also I didn't always have good light. In fact if you look at the Norfolk Trip report thread and look at those photos they were nearly all in atrocious weather conditions.
Today I was shooting in torrential rain at times and still got some half decent shots of Water Rail, Reed Bunting, Treecreeper and Great Spotted Woodpecker, and there wasn't a chink of sunlight anywhere just horrible grey clouds. All those photos were taken with the 1.4 attached to the lens.
