As i walked home from the train station in stafford this evening,i just crossed the railway bridge where an allotment lies next to the road.
Just before me a tawny owl flew across the road from around that area, only about 25 feet from me,and landed in the tree just by the fence seperating the railway boundarys and the road.
I must admit i got rather excited as it landed on the lowest branch up the tree,it must of been about 10 ft from me once i reached the tree,i stood and watched it,lit up by the street lamps it was a beautiful sight, then suddenly it spun its head round and looked me in the eye, there we both looked at each other for a minute and then i left it in piece.
It didnt fly off it just settled and stayed where it was.
I love these kind of suprises.Owls are my favourite birds.
Im happy.just thought id share.
