Two Oddities

Just thought I'd show off these two oddities, as well as a normal drake Mallard

This shot was taken on the part of the Cherwell River that runs through the University Parks in Oxford.

the duck on the left is a carolina wood duck the other is a hybred mallard

Yes, the Wood duck has his wing slipped, so we aren't too sure how he managed to escape (I'm guessing he's from a collection)

Hi Synn, and welcome to WAB.

The small duck in the bottom left is a Wood Duck (sometimes known as Carolina Duck), which is a common species in captivity and comes from North America.
The large duck to the right is a domestic breed of Mallard, with a pale colour form sometimes called 'silver'. It doesn't seem to fit any "standard" breeds, so may be a cross between two or more pure breeds - or perhaps just an individual that has some genes that breeders would consider to be 'wrong'!.

Hmm, somehow I read the post number for the thread as indicating that this was your first post on the site - still, everyones welcome (as you know!)
