| | | Fieldfare's I don't know if it is just coincidence or not, but with the first real frost and forecast of snow in northern areas, there have been huge numbers of Fieldfare winging in from the east, and heading south west, here in the north midlands,
a fine sight in the bright sunlight and clear blue sky of this morning,

judging by the numbers that have been going over here all day, i think your population of fieldfares is due for a large increase

| | | Re: Fieldfare's Started getting them last week in small numbers, they are increasing though. Certainally plenty of Redwing, brambling, siskin, common and lesser rodpoll too, as well as continental blackbirds, robins, woodpeckers etc. |

| | | Re: Fieldfare's Saw half a dozen flocks of around 200 yesterday. Did manage a fairish shot one in flight. Then did the annual event of following a flock along a hedgerow unable to draw a bead on a sitting bird.
There were also a few redwings about.
I file my snaps under the year. It was interesting to see that the second snap for 2010 is a fieldfare. Doesn't time fly!

| | | Re: Fieldfare's they tend to fly high up , and would look about the size of mistle thrushes, and would be in a large flock, their flight being intermittent , making a chack chack noise, hope that helps the beard, rossy. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
